NC Families First

Terri LeGrand grew up in a small, mountain town and came to Winston-Salem to attend Wake Forest. As a lawyer, Terri went to work advocating for women, children and families. She spent several years working directly with at-risk youth while living in a group home for teenage boys. And for the past 15 years, she has worked to ensure students have the resources they need to pursue their dreams of higher education.

Terri is active in the local community. She co-founded the Piedmont Earth Day Fair and the Piedmont Environmental Alliance, a non-profit that is building a healthier, more economically vibrant and environmentally sustainable community. She served as a PTA president at Paisley IB Magnet School and advocates for a just and equitable community through service on the Board of Forsyth Futures, as a member of the Women's Leadership Council of the United Way, and as a community volunteer.

Terri is running for the NC Senate because she believes we have lost our way. In our state government, divisions are wide, compromise is missing, and moral and ethical behavior is lacking. Terri will listen, cooperate and bring integrity to the job. She wants to provide good jobs, affordable health care, quality and equitable schools, freedom from gun violence, and clean water and air - the building blocks for healthy communities and a vibrant economy.
